NLSF Programs - Geared to Help Students

Thanks to the generosity of the community, the Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation is able to support students through a number of special programs and projects throughout Nanaimo and Ladysmith.

Awards, Scholarships and Bursaries - Every year the Foundation distributes awards to graduating grade 12 students. Our donors helps make almost $300,000 in assistance for local student's Post-Secondary education possible. District Honors Night at the Port Theatre to celebrate those students who receive $500 or more in awards. Scholarships, bursaries and awards under $500 presented at individual School Awards Assemblies.

Student Support Fund - Supports immediate needs of vulnerable students in the schools. Our annual fundraiser, Stock the Lockers raises funds provide basic classroom supplies to support students throughout the school year. The fund also supports Elementary Music programs for students in higher need schools.

Breakfast Programs - Food programs at elementary and secondary schools for students lacking adequate nutrition.

Mini-O Track Meet - A fun day for students with Special Needs. Approximately 80 athletes participate in this event every year.

Other financial support to a variety of needs within schools.
