Dogwood District | Authority Awards
The purpose of the Dogwood District/Authority Awards is to acknowledge excellence in the areas of:
- Fine Arts (Visual Arts, Dance, Drama, Music); or
- Applied Skills (Business Education, Technology Education, Information Communication Technology, Home Economics); or
- Physical Activity (not limited to Physical Education)
- Second Languages (including Aboriginal Languages)
The first half of the award consists of a $500 cheque; the second half is a $500 voucher that can be redeemed when a student enters a designated post-secondary institution.

Thanks to the generosity and vision of all our donors (individuals, businesses and service clubs), NLSF is helping 360 students pursue their post-secondary dreams. Hats off to our volunteers on the Awards Selection Committee who spent many days pouring over the applications to decide on 489 community-based scholarships, awards and bursaries totaling $372,125.

In 2011/12, our donors generously provided more than $290,000 to enable students to continue their education after graduating from Grade 12. The Ministry of Education also provided $80,000 in Dogwood Scholarships.
