Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation (NLSF) supports students daily with its Food4Schools initiative by providing food for school meals programs.
Food4Schools has created a food depot to allow us to access donated food, bulk purchase, sort, store and deliver to schools across the District. We work directly with all schools to help them provide healthy meals and snacks to vulnerable students. Programs may include breakfast, lunch and/or snacks.
NLSF provides support to almost 1,200 students who participate in school meals programs.
We rely on the strength of community! We need your help now more than ever.
Food4Schools supports current students in Nanaimo Ladysmith Public School who participate in school meals programs.
Please contact your child’s school directly to let them know your child would like to participate in their school meals programs
Typically Food4Schools is offered during the school year, however, due to the impact COVID-19 is having on many families, we offered Food4Schools hampers during summer 2020. Weekly hampers were available for contact-less pick up at designated hub schools throughout the District.
Free school meals programs vary by school and may include breakfast, lunch, snack, sit down, or grab & go options. Schools determine needs and number of students requiring support and tailor programs to meet the needs.
All donations ($20 and over will receive a tax receipt) are greatly appreciated and allow us to bulk purchase, shop case lot and stretch our food dollars. Want to host a fundraiser? Volunteer? Please contact us at crystal.dennison@sd68.bc.ca
